The ECCOQ is designed to provide strong column-beam connections in end-of-beam applications on top of steel members. The column cap features a design without legs, enabling a field-welded attachment to steel columns and beams. The seat of the column cap provides additional surface area for bearing that extends beyond the side of the column. This helps distribute the load from the beam and provide support for the connection. The ECCOQ uses Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws for fast installation and to attach to a greater net section area of the column than a bolt attachment normally entails.

Installation

• Fasten with 1/4" x 2 1/2" Strong-Drive SDS Heavy-Duty Connector screws, which are provided with the column cap. (Lag screws will not achieve the same load.) Use stainless-steel Strong-Drive screws with stainless-steel connectors.
• May be ordered for field welding to pipe or other columns. Weld by designer.
