The Sphinx Pendant is a hand sculpted lapis lazuli gemstone embodied with 22k gold vermeil on 925 sterling silver. The intaglio on the gemstone is an illustration of an ancient Egypt mythological creature SPHINX with the head of a human, the body of a lion, and the wings of a falcon. In Egyptian culture Sphinx has been adorned and symbolized with royalty, sacred status and their solar deity, Sun God, Horemakhet or Horus of the Horizon. To compliment the artisanship on the stone the intaglios have been embellished with a gold leaf.
