Product Introduction
ARS408-21SC3 is a new firmware version of the ARS408-21 millimeter wave radar sensor in mainland Germany. It adopts reliable solid-state technology, with high sensitivity, long measurement distance, accurate ranging, angle and speed measurement, high resolution, easy integration, high cost-effectiveness, and stable performance. It can be used for detecting the presence of targets in different application scenarios, as well as measuring distance, speed, and azimuth. Compared to the previous versions of ARS408-21, ARS408-21SC3 has optimized target classification, detection of low and slow targets such as pedestrians, and added polygon filtering configuration and 1200m range extension, which is suitable for more diverse needs and more complex application scenarios.
Compared to ARS408-21, ARS408-21SC3 has the following firmware feature updates:
1. Added the verification of target micro Doppler features, which provides better detection and tracking of pedestrians, including those in radial and transverse motion.
2. Added polygon region of interest settings. Unlike previous radar internal filters that only filter before outputting information, the setting of the polygon's work area of interest takes effect before clustering and tracking the target. All target IDs are only used by targets in that area to ensure a sufficient number of target IDs as much as possible. And it supports changing settings at any time and taking immediate effect through a dedicated message ID, meeting the flexible adjustment of the tracking area by customers based on the vehicle's movement status.
3. Optimized target classification. Adjusted the target classification algorithm and target category, with the 0x03 value changed to pedestrian.
