These barriers are compatible with the 3500 System, offering a cost-effective and convenient solution for installing transducer systems within hazardous areas.
Key Features and Guidelines for I/O Module Positioning
- Depth Consideration: Internal barrier I/O modules have an increased depth compared to standard I/O modules. Ensure easy access during maintenance by considering the rack position relative to adjacent modules.
- Safe Wiring Separation: Internal barrier I/O modules and IS Earthing Modules can occupy general-purpose rack positions without compromising the 50 mm (2 in) separation requirement for safe and hazardous area field wiring.

- Group internal barrier I/O modules in adjacent rack positions for easier installation.
- Place the IS Earthing Module in a location with easy access for routine maintenance.
- Allow a minimum of two rack positions between standard I/O modules and adjacent internal barrier I/O modules.
