The equipment

Throw on the luxury linen apron and admire your selection of beechwood pasta tools, including a tapered Italian rolling pin – the traditional tool for rolling perfectly thin pasta sheets. Alternatively, use the ridged rolling pin to cut sheets of pasta into ribbons of tagliatelle. For filled pasta fans, there’s a pair of ravioli stamps, as well as a fluted pasta cutter for adding wavy edges to ravioli. Last but not least is the gnocchi board, which makes shaping uniformly-ridged dumplings an absolute doddle. Included with all of this are easy-to-follow instructions for six iconic shapes: gnocchi, malloreddus, ravioli, tagliatelle, trofie and orecchiette, all written by our Head Pasta Chef, Roberta D’Elia.

The ingredients

As our Head Chef Roberta likes to remind us, making authentic pasta starts with the right ingredients. With that in mind, we’ve included a 1kg bag of 00 pasta flour – which is used in kitchens across Italy to make fresh egg pastas like tagliatelle and ravioli. Each kit also comes with a 1kg bag of Italian semola flour, which is the flour of choice for thicker, rugged pasta shapes like orecchiette and trofie. Once you’re ready to cook your pasta, use the included Italian sea salt to season your cooking water to perfection.
