This brand new collection comes from a collaboration with sculptor and artist Peter Squire Jones (AKA - Davy Jones).Pewter is a traditional material that has long interested us. The depth and feel of the natural Pewter finish is quite unique and gives a lovely antique feel to finished products. When we met Peter we felt that his natural handcrafting ability and knowledge of Pewter, mixed with our knowledge of buckle design and making could make for an interesting collaboration. This is our first collection, with a strong reference to nature & the cycle of life. This particular design 'Gecko' is delightful and full of detail, you can almost sense the movement of the gecko as he skips across the flowers and leaves, and his Swarovski crystal encrusted eyes give him a slightly mischievous look...looking at this buckle brings to mind warm summer evenings by the Med...This buckle is substantial in weight and feel, it will look lovely on one of our unlined vegetable tanned leathers if you want to use it for casualwear/jeans, but don't be afraid to dress it up with something a little sharper (maybe a mock croc with a little surface sheen and texture) to create a really eye-catching piece.
