This masterpiece by Bernard Sleigh, published in 1918 at the height of the Arts & Crafts movement, is the "Ancient Mappe of Fairyland".

The map is not a real map, of course. This map displays a fantastical fantasy land, crammed full of European fairy tales and and Greek mythology.

There's an awful lot going on in this map. I recommend you zoom into the detailed images to check it out. But to give you some idea... you can visit King Arthur's Tomb, or talk to Hercules. There's Cinderella's castle, Avalon, and Peter Pan's house. Valhalla and Asgard are in the distance. Fairies, watersprites and nixies adorn the map. All in all, an amazing piece of art.

Because this map is an unusual size - it's extremely wide! - it would make a fantastic statement piece above a sofa, table, mantelpiece or staircase. Please note that the smaller (18, 24 and 36 inch) maps have white edges that can be easily snipped off (or they may help you with framing). The larger sizes, and all the framed maps, are all printed and pre-cut perfectly to size.

The text is definitely very small on this map if you buy one of the smaller sizes. I recommend going for the 36in (91cm) wide map if you have space for it, or larger if possible.
