Extremely scarce copy of 'The Peculiar Piggies' by Charles Robinson, published in 1906 by J. M. Dent & Co., London, and E. P. Dutton & Co., New York. The prolific British illustrator Charles Robinson (1870-1937) illustrated many famous children's books throughout his impressive career, and this title is among the very scarcest of them. The title is not listed in well-known bibliographic overviews. According to WorldCat the only registered copies can be found in the libraries of both the University of Cambridge and Oxford.

Color pictorial green cloth-covered boards, Oblong, 2-1/2" x 7-1/2".  Contains 32 cardboard-printed color lithographs by Charles Robinson with verses from the illustrator. The cover has a somewhat peeling print and a crease on both the front and back. The verso of each page is blank. Some pages have a slight crease. A few brown spots on two pages and minor foxing to the endpapers. Note by the previous owner about the origin of the book attached on a blanco page before the halftitle page. The content is complete and in very good condition, and the binding is still firm.
