Gauntlet (1985) is a top-down dungeon crawler where up to four players choose heroes—a warrior, valkyrie, wizard, or elf—to battle monsters, collect keys, and gather treasure while navigating maze-like levels under a draining life meter. Cooperative play and resource sharing, like spells and food packs, are vital for survival.

The arcade cabinet features side art of the four heroes venturing through fiery halls against a purple-and-gold backdrop. A bright marquee reads “GAUNTLET” above the 19″ CRT. The angled control panel houses four joystick-and-button sets—one per player—while a speaker grille delivers digitized warnings like “Wizard needs food!” and driving music.
