This one is for everyone who said they wanted to see a fine-art warthog. There aren't enough of them in art!

I don't often paint outside, but I was outdoors at a park when I painted this one. The wind was kicking up something fierce, and I'm pretty sure that influenced my color choices.

Also. Dude. I LOVE WARTHOG HAIR.

Using a solid dark color with clean lines overlaid with translucent layers of flowing color is one of my favorite ways to paint animals that have stripes and/or spots. The resulting effect is a contemporary combination of art styles, graphic with painterly.
