Bald birds give me a special sense of joy and peace. This one is a species of ibis. I got a little creative with its coloration, as I tend to do. 

Bold red paint streaks down and across the paper. The ibis may be afraid, or worse, but it's holding its ground.

My Rain Paintings are a series I started in 2025. I started out with a single massive piece of watercolor, took it out into a rainstorm, and proceeded to use watercolors, non-toxic fabric paints, and the like, to create these works. After two separate rainstorm sessions, I cut the dried paper down to 8x10 and 5x7 inch rectangles and continued to paint and draw on them with all manner of materials in my studio.
