The exhibition, Not Moscow Not Mecca, featured the work of the artist collective, Slavs and Tatars, who focuses on dialogues about Central Asian cultures. Slavs and Tatars was founded in 2006 and encompasses a variety of art and artistic disciplines including the visual arts, performance art, poetry, and literature made by different artists. The catalogue features Slavs and Tatars' work specific to the exhibition as well as some of their other work.
