Each plate of concept art has brief captions describing the scene. One plate of text includes an introductory essay by Carol Wikarska, Director of Publications, who commends McQuarrie. Ralph McQuarrie (1929-2012) was a concept artist and illustrator. He worked on noted movies such as the original Star Wars trilogy, Battlestar Galatica, and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial.
