Melanie Taylor Kent was the first artist to be licensed by the Walt Disney Company to portray their theme parks in limited edition prints. And in 1993 she created a serigraph in an edition of 185 called "Tokyo Disneyland" in honor of it's 10th anniversary in 1993. We have purchased a number of her study pieces - pre-production artwork made during the creative process to reach the final serigraph image. These are unique pieces - often one of a kind or of two or three since they are iterations of attempting to come up with the final image.

And this one is amazing. It is of Cinderella's castle. It is done on multiple sheets of acetate to give it a brightness beyond paper. The colors have been applied to one sheet through some sort of printing process. And the best part of all - she has placed a little photocopy figure of Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer on the tower with tape.

The piece has uneven edges but measures approximately 10.5" x 17". The bottom is labelled "daytime A-5." We had a few versions of this. Scuffing on cel material.

She's done amazing limited editions for Warner Brothers and Hanna Barbera as well. She was selected as the official artist of the LA Dodgers and the 30th anniversary of Dodger Stadium. She was also selected as the official artist of the 50th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz", the 15th anniversary of "Star Wars" and the 10th anniversary of "E.T.". Her depiction of the 1984 Olympics, "Let the Games Begin", was licensed by the US Olympic Committee.
