Laika is the amazing stop-motion studio that brought us classics like Coraline, Paranorman, Kubo and the Two Strings and of course The Boxtrolls.

The Boxtrolls was loosely based on the 2005 novel "Here Be Monsters!" by Alan Snow. It was released in 2014 and was nominated for an Academy award for Best Animated Feature.

This is an amazingly rare, hand-drawn character design piece on animation paper of Shoe, one of the Boxtrolls. We have acquired a small series of these that each show a different emotion for Shoe! Measures approx. 16.5" x 11.5". Graphite on animation paper. Has pencil smudges from animator. Also light vertical graphite lines.
