One of the wonderful things about "Watership Down" is that both the book and the movie retain the fables/creation stories told by the rabbits. This cel is a rare one from the opening fable! These cels of the animals are unique in that they used a marker-like technique for the lines to get this unusually scary look!

"Watership Down" by Richard Adams was published in 1972. It was originally turned down by many of the big London publishers before a smaller press took it on. The movie was release in 1978 to general acclaim. It's a nice interpretation of a large novel - something often difficult to do. The cel measures 12.5" x 10.5" and comes complete with a Linda Jones seal and COA.
