ALNICO / D.C. =8K- This is the 7 string version of Kent Armstrong's super popular jazz humbucking pickup. Epoxy casting inside the cover allows for added coil to give a sweet mini-humbucker tone. The extended cover allows for use with traditional 7 string arch-top electrics. This is the same pickup used by Eastman on their 7 string archtops. It is only available as a side-mount (pickguard mount) due to varying neck sizes from manufacturer to manufacturer. Just like Kent's 6 string versions, this pickup is made in the tradition of the 'Johnny Smith' endorsed Gibsons introduced in the early 1960s. Alnico bar magnets.

Tip on how to mount this Kent Armstrong Jazz Guitar pickup - there are two options for attaching this pickup to the pickguard / scratchplate:

1. For the most inconspicuous method of mounting, rough up the top side of the metal side tab on the pickup as well as the underside of the pickguard and then use a contact adhesive such as Evo-stik.
2. Another method is to drill two holes through both the pickguard and metal side tab on the pickup and use some small nuts and bolts to secure into position.

There are two solder lugs on the bottom of the pickup ready for your wiring. We recommend purchasing our Gibson braided wire. The lug closest to the mounting tabs is the ground or shield lug, and it should be wired to the Gibson wire's outer braid. The inner conductor of the wire will connect to the inner or hot lug. You can run the pickup straight into output endpin jack, or you may choose to use onboard volume and tone controls. These controls can be mounted to the instrument's pickguard, or into holes drilled into the face of the guitar. 500k for brighter tone, 250k for warmer tone.
