Premium Quality Turtle Dining Table - Plywood/hardwood Collection [HZcsoDKp]

An 8-foot version of our Turtle dining table with a baltic-birch plywood top and a base made from a mix of basswood and mdf. Finished with a hand-rubbed satin polyurethane.

So this table served dual-duty in the prototype department. First up, the base was originally made to be the model for a cast bronze Turtle base—it's coming, sometime in the future, with a marble or hardwood or glass top—hence the lightweight and easily machined basswood legs and runners and the 3/4" MDF apron pieces. Second, the top, at a full 8 feet (by 32" wide at the ends and 40" wide in the middle), was a test of an increased overhang at the table ends: the production Turtle overhangs the runners at the floor by 12", this guy overhangs by 18". In any case, this is a lightweight, handsome table with great proportions and a sweet color palette. Sold as is with a limited 1-year warranty.
