Head Instructor for this class is Kay Miculek.  The course is designed to introduce or enhance basic shooting skills required to successfully participate in Practical Pistol style shooting competitions.  Students should bring guns and gear appropriate for Practical Shooting competitions.  A limited number of loaner guns and gear are available upon request at no additional charge. Approximate round count is 400 rounds.  Full sized handguns are recommended, with a minimum of 3 hi-cap magazines, or 6 single stack mags.  If shooting a revolver, bring a minimum of 6 speed loaders.  Training begins On days 1 and 2 at 8:00 am and ends at 4-5 pm.  Day 3 begins at 9 and ends 1-2 pm.

WHAT TO EXPECT...

Day 1: Solidify the all important basic techniques of speed shooting through multiply drills designed to teach students techniques of recoil management, trigger control,  tracking of sights, speed-reloads and fasts target transitions. 

Day 2:  Advanced skills are introduced such as shooting moving targets and shooting on the move.  Students will learn to aggressively and safely move through Practical Pistol stages of fire.  Students will also learn to effectively engage a wide variety of steel targets such as poppers, spinners, plate racks and Texas Stars.  Skills will be tested on Practical Pistol type stages of fire.

Day 3:  Practice new skills and techniques by participating in a Practical Pistol type "Mini" match.

Bottled water is provided at the range.  Student are encouraged to bring other drinks and snacks that they may want throughout the day, along with a sack lunch.  There will be a 30-45 minute lunch break on days 1 and 2.  A small refrigerator and cooler with ice will be available for student's food and drinks.
