Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant your lotus tuber in heavy loam soil using a large, wide (24-48 inches or wider) no holes container. Once you have added heavy loam soil to your container, dig a trench across the surface of the soil and gently place your lotus tuber in the trench being careful not to damage the growth tips. Pull some soil over the tuber but leave the growth tips exposed. Gently add 4-6 inches of water over the soil and place your container in a location where it will receive 8+ hours of sunlight each day. Soon you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water.

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water you may fertilize your lotus plant by pushing 4-6 fertilizer Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs Plus Humates into the soil around the soil, being careful not to damage the lotus roots.
