Lotus Planting Instructions

Plant your sacred lotus in a wide (16-30 inches or wider), shallow container and use heavy loam soil to plant your sacred lotus tuber. Dig a shallow trench across the top of the soil and place your lotus tuber in the trench. Cover all but the growth tips with soil, keeping the growth tips exposed. Add a couple of inches of water over the soil and place where your lotus tuber will receive at least 8+ hours of sunlight daily. DO NOT FERTILIZE. In a week or so, you will have coin leaves growing on the surface of the water. Soon you will have aerial leaves growing out of the water.

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

We recommend Waterlily World Fertilizer Tabs+ Humates for vigorous growth and best bloom. Simple push the fertilizer tabs one inch deep into the soil around your sacred lotus plant, being careful not to damage the roots. Lotus are very heavy feeders, we recommend that you feed your lotus plants once a month, from June through September, as these are the growing and blooming months of a sacred lotus plant.
