Complete Ivy Victorian French Antique Hallmark Chunky 8.2mm Wide Cigar Band 18k Gold Solid Eternity Ring Wedding Value Pack [GeQ4pKog]

It's that time of year again for Mouse to clean out her house! So I'll be bringing you some releases from my personal collection this week including this one!

A romantic engraved wide band depicting ivy vines and leaves entwined all the way around this eternity ring. The open work detail provides a nice texture with the beautiful foliate design. I love stackable bands and floral / foliate rings so this one was right up my alley. I also love that it has the French antique hallmark for 18k gold used primarily in the 1800s and discontinued by 1918 to solidify the age and "antique-ness" of the piece:)

Wide footprint at 8.2mm - stacks beautifully and also lovely to wear alone, it was likely a wedding band. The ivy motif was popular in Victorian times in jewelry as it represents life and eternity (essentially immortality), along with clinging attachment. It also was used to express fidelity and friendship.

Antique box not included. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.

SIZE & MEASUREMENTS:

It is a size 5 3/4. It weighs a sturdy 4.3grams.

The band is 8.2mm wide.

IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:

It is slightly out of round with a little curve inward to one or two of the leaves but I didn't find it uncomfortable to wear. Some darker patina / hue to the gold in two spots (in the same area) that may have been a fortification or possibly just done in the fabrication of the piece. Not as noticeable on the outside but when I wore it, I would spin that area to the back.

Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
But - Please note due to age, this piece is not in mint condition. Pictures also serve as part of the description and condition report so please utilize the zoom feature which will magnify any wear significantly more than what is visible to the eye while wearing : )
