This is a museum quality Santo Domingo very rare and amazing inlaid large necklace. This phenomenal necklace is one of the largest and most beautiful and intricate inlaid Santo Domingo necklaces we have collected all year. The necklace consists of 5 outstanding strands of hand cut large disc shaped purple spiny oyster shells. Located towards the bottom of the necklace are impressive hand inlaid squash patterns that consist of amazing purple spiny oyster, jet and Easter Blue turquoise. The largest inlaid pendant which is situated in the center measures a whopping 3-7/8" X 1-1/2". Seperating the top five strands from the bottom five strands are remarkable large inlaid rectangular patterns that each consist of spiny oyster, Easter Blue turquoise and jet. Each of the rectangular shaped inlaid pendants measure around 2-1/4" X 1-1/4". This necklace is truly one of a kind and is just so very beautfiful. It can even be worn two ways if desired as the back is comprised of wonderful solid jet with accenting hand cut tan shell heishi. Cir. 1980's+. The length of the necklace measures around 36". Sturdy 349 grams.
