This is an astonishing vintage Hopi large silver buckle belt handmade by the very famous artist, Lewis Lomay. Lewis is a multiple award winner and is known for his incredible workmanship. This impeccable belt contains a very large rectangular shaped silver buckle that measures around 4-1/8" X 2". Located on the buckle are three outstanding large chunky spiderweb matrix turquoise stones that appear to be from the stunning Lone Mountain turquoise mine. Accenting the stones are phenomenal silver works that are deep and hand carved into unique patterns with accenting sun bursting patterns. The detailing is just incredible. The center stone measures around 3/4" x 5/8". Signed by Navajo artist, Lewis Lomay. Sterling silver, marked. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 37-1/2" and 45". Sturdy 253 grams.
