This is a magnificent vintage Navajo inlaid silver concho belt. This impeccable piece contains 9 remarkable rectangular shaped silver conchos and a matching silver buckle. Each concho and buckle tells a beautiful story that includes a Native man riding a horse, a ceremony, a Native man bowing down, a hogan with a weaving rug, hearding cattle, and a Native woman weaving a beautiful Indian rug. The detailing on this concho belt is truly magnificent and precise. The inlay consists of mother of pearl, Sleeping Beauty turquoise, coral, and onyx. The silver works that even surround the inlay works are just phenomenal containing sun stampings and cloud works. Each of the conchos measure around 3" X 2". Signed by Navajo artist, Ben Boyd . Sterling silver. Cir. 1970's+. This belt will fit a waist size between 33-3/4" and 42-1/2". Sturdy 398 grams.
