This is a remarkable vintage Navajo large chunky turquoise silver buckle. Located on the buckle are beautiful detailed silver leaves, stems and surrounding silver wave works. Situated in the center of the large vibrant blue colored turquoise stone is a wonderful silver x pattern with an accenting large silver slab piece. Such a fascinating buckle. The stone appears to be from the impeccable Morenci turquoise mine. The large thick heavy silver buckle measures a whopping 3-1/4" X 2" and can fit a belt width of about 1-3/8". The center stone measures around 2-3/4" x 1-1/2". Sterling silver, marked. Signed by Navajo artist, LP. Cir. 1970's+. Sturdy 71 grams.
