This is an astounding vintage Navajo necklace having a single strand of gigantic Morenci and Kingman turquoise slabs with large handcarved silver beads in between and a handmade silver hook and eye clasp! Truly Stunning Masterpiece! The largest turquoise slab measures about 1-3/4" x 1-1/4".

The Kingman Turquoise mine, near Kingman AZ, is the oldest and most prolific turquoise mine in North America. Kingman Turquoise ranges in color from light to very dark blue and sometimes tints of green with a Matrix range from white, light brown to black.

All Morenci turquoise available on the market today was mined prior to 1984 and is highly collectible. High grade Morenci turquoise is characterized by a deep blue color, caused by high copper content in the ground, and a matrix that includes iron pyrite (fools gold).
Sterling silver. The length of the necklace measures around 25". Sturdy 185 grams.
