A very good pair of antique Carolean carved walnut upholstered wingback armchairs, 17th century style, lady's & gents throne chairs, circa 1860.
The tall wingbacks with sides to provide the sitter with protection from windy drafts, each base is finely carved with scrolled arms and raised on scrolled front feet united by a carved apron and turned stretcher. The chairs had been reupholstered circa 1900 with a high quality light blue and gold brocade fabric, each chair with a single removeable back cushion.
The chairs are in great condition, and are incredibly comfortable, these chairs are ready to grace your space.

Provenance; from an 18th century Country Manor House, County Donegal, Southern Ireland
