A very beautiful watercolor painting by the celebrated Italian artist Daniele Bucciarelli (1839–1911), of a interior scene circa 1880.
The painting depicts the interior of a grand room in a Roman Palazzo with a decorated vaulted ceiling, fine paintings on the walls, Orientalist carpets on the floors and sculpture and antique furniture adorning the room. It is a scene that is very finely painted by a very talented Roman artist, condition is excellent and signed lower right "D. Bucciarelli", the painting is housed in a period gilt wood frame.
Daniele Bucciarelli was a talented Italian painter born in Rome (1839–1911),
The artist exhibited extensively at the Royal Hibernian Academy of Arts (RHA) Dublin, Ireland, between 1879 and 1902, alternating from addresses in Rome and Dublin. Bucciarelli specialized in detailed depictions of historic costumes, particularly those of seventeenth century soldiers and buccaneers.
Bucciarelli after graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, taught at the Cesi technical school for several years. His liberal ideas led him to enlist in the ranks of Garibaldi's supporters. He took an active part in political events in 1859-60, for which he was sent to Rome's San Michele prison for four years. He took part in exhibitions: in Florence in 1867 (Chess Game) also in Milan in 1879 (Arco di Tito, Marina, Paludi, Una dolce contemplazione) and in 1881 (Strada in Articoli) at this time he joined the Society of Water-colorists. At the International Exhibition in Rome in 1883, he presented Una strada a Venezia, and at the Exhibition of the Society of Amateurs and Connoisseurs in 1893. - Shepherdess. He also exhibited in Turin in 1884 and in Venice in 1887.
