A very elegant carved ivory & 14 karat gold cameo brooch & pendant, Italy, circa 1870.
This very lovely cameo is carved as a beautiful Pre-Raphalite maiden, the cameo is finely & deeply carved, depicting the young maiden with flowers in her tresses. The cameo is housed in an American fourteen karat gold mount, the gold is marked "14k", the cameo can be worn either as a brooch (it has a locking pin) or as a pendant (as it also has a loop for it to be hung from a chain). Condition is very good, gold weight is about 12 grams, total weight is 60.55 grams.
