Exquisite, antique, French tantalus box with unmarked Baccarat cordials and decanter set circa mid 1800s. The tantalus is black, French polished wood with inlaid brass and burled wood. Inside is a removable tray caddy made of gilded brass and wood. The set includes 3 Baccarat liquor decanters with stoppers and 11 cordial/ shot glasses and a working key on a tassel. Stamped "Made in France" on the bottom.

Measurements: Tantalus approx 13" wide, 10 1/2" tall x 10" depth. Decanters approx 8" tall (with stopper), cordials approx 2 7/8" tall.

This tantalus set is in good original antique condition with age appropriate signs of use, including a couple of chips to the wood and some splits on the inside bottom (which is cosmetic as it's still solid). The crystal is all in good condition, with one glass having a slight chip in the base and another glass having a repair to the rim (this is a repair made before I acquired the set) and some wear to one of the stoppers. Overall, very nice, considering the age of the set.
