NATURAL HISTORY
Theobroma cacao
Cacao plants are small trees that produce the cacao beans that are used for chocolate production. The beans are contained within the tree’s fruit, which are around one pound each and contain around forty to sixty beans. The plant is native to Central and South America though now it is cultivated around the world. This particular bean was sourced from Vietnam by Shark Mountain Chocolate, a single origin chocolate company based in Virginia.
