The GIRO Aether Mips helmet is a top-of-the-range helmet designed for super-demanding cyclists looking for optimum protection and maximum racing comfort. While it evokes the look and style of the Synthe helmet, the Aether surpasses it in terms of ventilation and aerodynamics. Above all, it introduces the new Mips Spherical technology, an evolution of the first Mips protective membrane, adopted in recent years by most bicycle helmet manufacturers.

The aim of this new Mips technology (Multi-directional Impact Protection System) is still to reduce the risk of brain trauma in the event of an oblique impact to the head. The principle is also the same: on impact, the outside of the helmet slides slightly over the inner layer in contact with the skull, to prevent it from absorbing the full force of the impact.

The system is now integrated into the helmet's design. Instead of the characteristic Mips membrane (made of yellow plastic), 2 layers of EPS foam of different densities are used: linked together by elastomer ties, they move very slightly independently of each other, in rotation. In this way, cyclist comfort and ventilation levels are also enhanced.

This GIRO Aether Mips helmet is constructed with 6 pieces of polycarbonate directly fused (in-mold) to the outer layer of absorbent foam. The top of the helmet features a super-strong arch to reinforce the overall structure. Thanks to the large shell openings and integrated ventilation channels that optimize airflow, it offers cyclists a high level of comfort, particularly in hot weather. This construction also improves aerodynamics!

Further proof of the helmet's exceptional quality is provided by the Roc Loc 5-Plus adjustment system, which enables precise ergonomic adjustment, ultra-light straps and rubber pads to hold the goggles on the front when not in use.
