The Air King has been in the Rolex line up since it was introduced in the 1940s to pay respect to the Royal Air Force pilots who took part in the Battle of Britain. This particular example has an interesting additional military element in that it bears the logo of the Royal Saudi Armed Forces on the dial. These watches were given as gifts to officials and other important people as was the custom in the Middle East. The watch remains in superb condition, with a strong case. The silver dial has gold colour fittings and matching hands. The bracelet is a solid link Oyster bracelet reference 78350, with a clasp stamped ‘V B’ and ref 557 endlinks, that remains in excellent condition. The watch has been fully serviced by our watchmaker.
