An exquisite moonstone necklace from the Art Nouveau (ca1900) era! This gorgeous piece is crafted in 14kt yellow gold and comprised of beautiful moonstone cabochons and rich enamel work. The stones are set at the center, one round in shape and the other an elongated oval shape and each is held within a yellow gold bezel setting, emitting a soft translucent quality with brilliant blue flashes. The two-link pendant centerpiece hangs long and is separated by a single natural seed pearl which compliments the colors beautifully. The stones are accented by vibrant light green enameled frames as well as two additional links which are set within the fine gold chain. Below the enameling is a finely carved design which shows through the surface, giving the piece wonderful texture and depth. The green enameled links which rest on either side of the centerpiece portray the shapes of an arrows' fletching and each connects to two short sections of chain at one end and to the remaining length of chain at the other end. The necklace clasps at the back at a simple spring clasp. This outstanding necklace serves as a wonderful example of the Art Nouveau era with its gorgeous design.
