The Weston iHorn is made from a Weston Electric Company, of Newark, New Jersey Ammeter which was probably made in the early 1900s as all patent marks are for the late 1800’s. An ammeter (from Ampere Meter) is a measuring instrument used to measure the current in a circuit. Electric currents are measured in amperes, hence the name. By the late 19th century, improved instruments were designed which could be mounted in any position and allowed accurate measurements in electric power systems. The Weston iHorn uses a vintage funnel as the horn. The Weston was both a teaching tool and a tool of the trade which reminds us that we are never to old to learn and that the world is a laboratory of fascination. It’s shape is a reminder that there is a circle of life and what goes around comes around.
