When exhibiting our images in Perth Western Australia a gentleman approached us and asked if we would like to see his collection of 1928 Rugbys (Star Motor Company U.S.A.)
In a tiny backyard in the middle of the city we found two open tourer Rugbys, surrounded by old printing presses and enough Rugby parts that the owner had been collecting for 30 years with the aim of restoring them “one day".
Rugby was the export name for William Durant’s, Star Motor Company’s, Star car line. Due to the name Star being under copyright by the Star motor company in
England. ( William Durant was co-Founder of General Motors)
