When choosing the correct manual, based on age, always chose the manual where you child is at the moment you want to start training.  Even if your child is close to transitioning to the next age, do not age up for their manual.

Because you are not starting your sleep training journey from birth, you will need to teach self soothing skills.  At the ages listed above, this might involve some crying, depending on your current situation.  If you are not comfortable with the amount of crying listed below, you should not purchase.

• 4 - 6 Months - 20 Minutes
• 7 - 9 Months - 30 Minutes
• 10 - 12 Months - 45 Minutes
• 13 - 24 Months - 60 Minutes

If your child is between the ages of 16 - 21 Months and taking two naps per day, you should purchase the 12 - 21 Month Manual.  If they are only taking one nap or less, you should purchase the 16 - 24 Month Manual.
