A solid eighteen carat gold ballpoint pen by the luxury atelier, Cartier.  This pen is a very rare and luxurious piece from THE name in luxury; Cartier. The pen is an unsual design, and unlike many other pens made by the company. It is a classic body and removable cap style, but the cap itself has a bulbous, ball end to it.

The pen is fully signed 'Cartier' along with the numerous French assay poinçon marks all over the pen for eighteen carat gold, and the marker mark. There are French marks on the removable screw, the body of the pen, and on the edge of the removable cap. Along with the French assay mark is the hand engraved Cartier signature, and unique stamped unique serial number on the removable cap. The cap itself is beautifully made with a pair of incisions that run vertically through around one third of the cap that allow for it to open, and therefore strongly grip the body of the pen. The overall feel is superb, as one would come to expect from the atelier. It is also quite heavy weighing nearly twenty grams of gold without the pen inside.

The piece was made in France circa 1950's, and is in excellent working order.  Refills can still be ordered for it, making for an excellent gift for any fan of the brand. The pen comes in its original, made in France, hand tooled red leather fitted Cartier box with fitted interior to hold the pen perfectly in place.
