An Art Deco solid sterling silver cocktail shaker.  This is a classic design, but a high quality execution of the essential bar ware piece.  The shaker is made up of three pieces; the body, the lid with strainer, and end cap.  Simply add ice and ingredients into the body.  Place lid on.  Shake, then remove cap for the strainer to separate the ice from the finished cocktail, and pour.  The piece has handsome engine turned knurled, banded pattern through each element of the piece, which adds an aesthetic nature to the shaker, but also also for more purchase on the body when wet during use.  The thick gauge silver has full English hallmarks for Sheffield, made in 1933 and maker  R.McD & Co.  This maker has not been identified, meaning that they were a small, artisanal silversmith's.
