Black Friday Doorbuster J. E. Caldwell Sterling Drinking Flask Series [KEFiyGsI]

A sterling silver drinking flask. This wonderfully shaped, high quality flask is a pleasent departure from the classic hip flask shape. The body of the flask is more wide than it is long.  This means it will fit neatly into a jacket breast pocket, or even a back pocket of a jean or trouser. It also has a lovely curve to the back allowing it to form well to the body.

The flask was made by one of America's leading 20th Century silversmiths; J. E. Caldwell.  James Emmot Caldwell was an American jeweller who founded his own store in Philadelphia in 1839.  The company went from strength to strength, and even after his death in 1881, the company continued to flourish. In fact, it is argued that the work of Caldwell in the early 20th Century is perhaps their finest

This fine example came from a private collection and is in perfect condition having no dents or damage. The flask is fully stamped on the base, as can be seen in the photograph. The flask still seals and can be used today, if desired. Made in America, circa 1910.
