This unique African influenced necklace has a 44mm Carved African Black Panther Pendant of black horn as the focal. There are 10mm black and white African Batik Bone beads, white bone beads, black Water Buffalo Horn Pipe Beads and black horn rondelles also included. All are strung on genuine black leather 3mm cord that I have wrapped with Sterling wire on the ends. The clasp is a sterling lobster claw with a sterling silver chain extension so that you can wear this necklace from 18 1/2 to 21 1/2" long. The pendant is only carved on one side.  The last picture shows the backside of the pendant.

This necklace can be worn by a man or woman and is definitely an eye catcher.

Batik or Mudcloth beads are handmade in Africa using bone and an ancient technique.  Wax is painted onto the bead to create a design, then the surface is dyed with a vegetable dye. Once the dye is set the wax, which prevents the dye from absorbing into the bone, is removed showing the resulting design and is reminiscent of the African fabric known as mudcloth.
