This is a beautiful vintage huipil from Chichicastenango. It has intricately woven designs on it. It's a gorgeous textile. The huipile itself measures 31 inches long by 33 inches wide. a black cotton fabric was added on the top and bottom, so the entire piece measures 50 inches by 33 inches wide. 

A huipil is a traditional blouse worn by Mayan women. The design of each huipil can identify the village a woman is from. The patterns of the huipil have been handed down from generation to generation. The women hand weave their huipiles on a back strap loom. The designs are created by weaving colored yarns into the cloth. 

This beautifully colored huipil is handwoven of 100% cotton. It would make a beautiful wall hanging or framed piece of textile art. It could also be used as a stunning tablecloth, but the edges would need to be hemmed.
