This stunning little axolotl alebrije is crafted by Oaxacan woodcarvers Magaly Fuentes and her husband Jose Calvo, perfect for any admirer of the Mexican walking fish. In order to help restore the species, Mexico has taken steps to protect potential habitats and create shelters specifically for axolotls.
