Signs of wear and patination present. Made by American Optical during World War Two and supplied to air crew personnel of the USAAC (later to become the USAAF) and the US Navy. The classic "teardrop" shape of the lenses evolved in order to allow pilots to glance down at their instrument panels without having the obstruction of the traditional rounded frames impeding their view.
