This child's indigo dyed kasuri or ikat kimono shows a repeat pattern that is large in scale to the small size of the kimono.
Inside, on the partial lining of the piece is the surprise mentioned above: you can see a red woven emblem, which is the end of the bolt, and which is basically the maker's mark which identifies the cloth.
This small kimono has been worn, it has a bit of patina from its former life as a garment, but overall it is in good condition.
