Versatile Julie Mehretu & Robin Coste Lewis Vinyl And Publication For Men [1roKBgTX]

In 2021, Mehretu invited Lewis to participate in one of her exhibitions, resulting in the poem Intimacy (for Julie), a text that meditates on human histories, migrations, desires, and the abstract.

Excerpts of the poem were recorded and used in the video installation Intimacy, featuring photographs of Lewis’ relatives, neighbors, and friends from 20th-century America. The installation was shown alongside Mehretu’s paintings and works on paper at Galerie Marian Goodman Paris in 2022.

A recording of Lewis reading part of the poem is reproduced on vinyl, accompanied by a publication that includes selected images and text from Lewis’ installation, as well as a catalogue of images from Mehretu’s Among The Multitude V–XIII (2020–2022) series.
