Member Exclusive Medium Naked-raku-fired Decorative Pot (blacks & Grays) - Don't Overpay [Hfhv6tC2]
The raku firing process involves heating pottery in a kiln to nearly 2000 degrees, opening the kiln while the pottery is still red hot, and quickly moving it to a reduction atmosphere full of combustibles where the lack of oxygen and excess of carbon give it a truly unique look and feel. "Naked raku" involves coating the pottery with a liquid clay before firing up the raku kiln. As the clay begins to peel away in the heat, it leaves pockets for the carbon to become trapped beneath it, creating the effect you see here.
