Early twentieth century model of the Hudson River Sloop "Illinois" of Newburg, NY. This museum quality model was built by renowned model builder Captain H. Percy Ashley, who has models in many major maritime museums including the Phillips Andover Academy and Mystic Seaport. He is known for his building style which is to have the ship model appear as the ship would, with wear and patina. Details include pump, hatches, buckets, lanterns, stool, kegs, benches, tiller, lifeboat, etc..
