German Pre War ’34 Dated Political Canteen-This is something we do not get to see very often, a prewar canteen in such good shape. The cap is marked ‘HRE 34’ indicating production by Heinrich Ritter, of Esslingen in 1934. The neck of the canteen is marked the same. The brown wool covering this canteen does show some moth tracking and small nips, but no major moth damage which is unusual. There are a few dark spots from use or storage. The black leather strap that also wraps around the neck is excellent. This has a shiny nickel silver plated snap clip attached to this neck strap. This attaches to a leather belt strap by a steel “D”-ring. This is very nicely marked and dated, and is in very good condition.
